When You Pray, But Forget to Praise

Anyone else find themselves stressing, praying, and basically hounding God over something, only to forget about it a few months later? Then suddenly, one random day, you wake up and realize... God already did it! That new car, the house, the dream job—whatever it was, it’s been sitting there, and you didn’t even stop to say, "Thank You, Lord!"

This got me thinking about two key lessons we can all learn:

1. God’s Timing is Perfect (Even When We Don’t Get It):
We can cry, shout, fast, and pray until we’re blue in the face, but sometimes the blessing doesn’t come because... it’s not time. Maybe we’re praying for something we’re not quite ready for or wouldn’t know how to handle yet. God’s delays aren’t denials—they’re preparations. He gives us what we need, when we need it, so we don’t misuse or mishandle the blessing.

2. Faith Isn’t Just About Asking—It’s About Trusting:
When we pray, we have to trust that God has our best interests at heart. He’s not holding back anything good from us. The Bible tells us, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” So, as much as we ask and wait, we also need to have faith that God’s plan is bigger and better than we can imagine.

Remember to pause and reflect on those answered prayers. Sometimes, the things you were praying for six months ago are right in front of you. Let’s not forget to thank Him for all He’s done!
