Need softened butter in a hurry? Cut it into small cubes and let it sit at room temperature for about 10-15 minutes. Alternatively, you can place the stick of butter in a warm bowl (not hot!) for about 5 minutes. If you’re really in a pinch, grate the cold butter with a box grater—this will soften it in no time!
